MISSION

To create opportunities for people to connect, be supported, and participate in activities that reflect humanist values and principles.

The Ontario humanist Society does this primarily through;

  • Advancing awareness of humanism in Ontario

  • Providing opportunities for humanist community building and learning

  • Educating and licensing humanist officiants in the province of Ontario

  • Campaigning for secularism and human rights within Ontario

STRATEGIC FOCUS #1 - GROW MEMBERSHIP

DEVELOP & IMPLEMENT MARKETING STRATEGY

Comprehensive strategy that focuses on;

  • Who our target market is
  • What our compelling offer is to potential new members
  • Increased use of Social Media
  • Reality of operating in a virtual environment

Marketing strategy will be focused on growing membership and awareness of humanism in Ontario. Opportunities for leveraging partnerships will be identified and explored.

IMPROVE MEMBER ENGAGEMENT

In order to attract and retain members OHS will pursue to two major areas of increasing member engagement;

  1. Member Participation
    • Development and implementation of a robust Volunteer Program that matches OHS needs with volunteer areas of interest
  2. Member Involvement
    • Development and implementation of Member Programs that encourage interactive learning and discussion

Both areas of focus will be designed to build community. Opportunities for leveraging partnerships will be identified and explored

Focused Activism

Develop a process to identify 1 - 3 annual areas of focus considering the importance of the issue to our members and humanism and the ability of OHS to effect change.

Develop an action plan each year to create change through charitable donations, education and collective and individual action.
