Responsibilities:
User Research, Usability Study, Wireframing, Prototyping, Iterating.
Understanding
the user
User research: summary
I conducted interviews and created empathy maps to understand the users I’m designing for and their needs. A primary user group identified through research was working parents who don’t have time to buy toys for their kids by visiting stores.
This user group confirmed initial assumptions about AR Toys customers, but research also revealed that time was not the only factor limiting users from buying toys online. Other user problems included obligations, online payments, variety among toys etc.
User research: pain points
Time
Working or single parents don’t have enough time to visit toy stores with their kids.
Reliability
Some parents are afraid to shop online as they don’t get enough online payment options to pay.
Accessibility
There are not enough online toy stores on internet. User want such an app that are equipped with advanced and assistive technologies.

Persona: Paul Parker
Problem statement:
Paul Parker is a busy man who needs to buy toys for her only daughter because he cannot go frequently to offline toy stores to buy toys for her daughter.
Starting
the design
Paper wireframes
This is my first paper wireframe for the homepage design. Before drawing I’d brainstormed a lot about the homepage of the AR Toys app and after so many feedbacks and iterations I finally designed my final product.
Image of paper wireframes including five different versions of the same screen and one image of the new, refined version
Digital wireframes
This is the initial screen I designed for the app and I wanted to make it as clean as possible , a homepage that contains enough content to navigate towards other pages.
This hamburger sign helps user to navigate to important buttons like search, track orders etc.
The each section for boys and girls helps kids to find toys based upon their preference.
Digital wireframes
Various payment options for the user to choose from.
Insert second wireframe example that demonstrates design thinking aligned with user research
Back to Homepages button to navigate directly to the homepage.
Low-fidelity prototype
Screenshot of prototype with connections or prototype GIF
This is a low fidelity prototype of AR Toys , named AR Toy Store earlier. The user flow is pretty simple and clean. I designed the ordering process by connecting the set of digital wireframes so that it could get used in the usability study.
Usability study: findings
Write a short introduction to the usability studies you conducted and your findings.
Round 1 findings
Requires clear appearance of the payment options.
1
Various payment options are needed.
2
Round 2 findings
The font size was not appropriate.
1
The contents of the page are clean.
2
More colors were required.

Refining
the design
Mockups
The idea behind creating the homepage is to provide convenience and variety to the potential users. Making the whole design clean and easily understandable was the prime goal.

Mockups
During usability study I get to know that user not only wants variety in the toys but also in the payment options. So, I’d decided to provide a design that contains more than enough online payment methods.

Accessibility considerations
Used imagery to provide clean and exact appearance to each an every option.
Given a large variety of payment methods for potential users to choose from.
Provided a navigation button on top of every screen to reach out additional features of the app like setting , search, track order etc.

Takeaways
Impact:
AR Toys is an app for kids that gives joy to every kid and that’s what the idea behind the designing of this app. The colours and fonts all are bright , vibrant and joyous.
What I learned:
I’ve learned so much while designing the app. I understand the procedure of initiating an idea of how to design.
Iterating and keep on improving your designs is the only best way to create a beautiful design is what I learned from this project.
Next steps
Conduct another round of usability studies to validate whether the pain points users experienced have been effectively addressed.
Conduct more user research to determine any new areas of need.
