October Fundraiser

• This year AMWA UTD will be conducting a fundraiser in the month of October to raise money and awareness for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
• October is known as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and it is a chance for us to raise awareness about breast health and be a supportive hand for those who walk through the complex cancer care system.

• ​

• On average, every 2 minutes a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States. There are over 3.8 million breast cancer survivors in the United States.
• Thankfully, death rates from breast cancer have been declining since about 1990, in part due to better screening and early detection, increased awareness, and continually improving treatment options.

We will provide all members with the same bingo board, if you want you can post it on your own social media and ask friends and family to donate!

Anyone who fills out the bingo board gets 3 fundraising hours

We will put a Bingo Board on the AMWA UTD instagram - members can donate as much or as little as they want!

For every $6 donated, you earn 1 fundraising hour

​

**Reminder: All AMWA members must have at least one fundraising/volunteering hour every semester.**

Pre-order form opens on October 10th & will be live until October 12th - if you choose to order in advance, you can pick up your order on any of the days of the bake sale!

Any AMWA member who purchases cookies during the bake sale will get entered into a raffle to win an AMWA sticker pack!

AMWA UTD will be selling chocolate chip cookies, cake pops, and strawberry cheesecake to raise additional funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

A purchase of $6 during bake sale = 1 fundraising hour

How to enter the raffle:

• 1 ticket for every $6 spent at the bake sale
• 1 ticket for every $6 you donate on the AMWA bingo board
• 5 tickets for your own bingo board being completed

** the person who raises the most money (bingo boards + bake sale) will get 5 extra raffle tickets to go toward the scholarship! **

Winner Announcement:

The scholarship winner will be announced at the Spooky Social on 10/25. The winner may choose EITHER a free MCAT or GRE prep course.
