Our Goal:
Strengthen the resilience of the Minneapolis community both in times of crisis and in everyday life.
What is a community resilience hub?
COMMUNITY =
Communities are both people and places.
Residents know best what their communities need.
RESILIENCE =
Resilience isn’t just about riots, extreme weather events or a time of crisis.
A resilient community fosters equity and opportunity for its residents every single day, meeting people where they are with what they need.
HUB =
Hubs are trusted and familiar community spaces.
They not only serve as a place to find shelter, power, water and food when an emergency happens or during heat waves and other extreme weather emergencies, but also meeting basic needs -- like child care, a food pantry, youth programs, job training, health services, or classes on how to become a homeowner.

Community Preparedness
Community Resilience Hubs would help foster community preparedness, social cohesion, and mutual care within the community for emergencies and disruptions.
5 Foundational Areas of Resilience Hubs Planning
Three Resilience Hubs
Sabathani and the American Indian Center have very high energy bills -- $20,000 a month for Sabathani.
Reducing energy bills frees up money to provide more community programming and services.
