Artificial Intelligence describes machines that are designed to learn and think like humans.

Pattern Recognition

Pattern recognition is the ability of machines to identify patterns and make decisions or predictions using algorithms.

Machine Learning

ML involves the development of algorithms and models to help machines improve performance.

Deep Learning

In deep learning, computers use neural networks (inspired by the structure and function of the human brain) to learn from themselves and get more precise. Deep learning drives today's generative AI.

Natural Language Processing

NLP hopes to give computers more human-like abilities in text and spoken word. NLP combines algorithms, pattern recognition and machine learning.

NLG is the use of AI to produce natural spoken or written narrative. NLG relies on machine learning algorithms.

LLMs are a type of generative AI that uses deep-learning algorithms that can recognize, summarize, translate, predict, and generate text and other content based on knowledge gained from massive datasets.

Prompt

A prompt is a text-based instruction that provides direction and context to an AI system, guiding it towards generating a desired output.

Create a lesson activity that is creative and hands-on. It should teach learners the basics of what an algorithm is in computer science, teach them the essential components of writing an algorithm, and share everyday examples of algorithms. It should be a balance of instructor-led and exploration. The learners are 11 year olds and they have no prior knowledge in computer science algorithms. There are 45 minutes for the activity.
