Special opportunities: Finding GEMS For Life (formally GEMS UniConnect) opportunities

From the student dashboard at unifrog.org/student/home, click the ‘Start’ button on the Special opportunities box.

Click on ‘next’ once you’ve finished reading.

The opportunities available to you depend on where you live and where you’re from.

Select the relevant options from the dropdown menu, and click ‘next’ at the bottom to continue.

Select a country that you’re interested in exploring special opportunities in by clicking on the relevant box.

You’ll be presented with the option to search for a specific special opportunity based on the subjects you are interested in. All the GEMS For Life opportunities are available under the (Not tied to a subject) option.

Click ‘next’ at the bottom of the screen.

On this page you can choose to exclude the opportunities which aren’t relevant to your personal circumstance.

Select all the ones (if any) that don’t apply to you and then click ‘next’.

You’ll then be presented with the special opportunities that you have filtered to be relevant to you and your circumstances separated by type (e.g. Activities) over three columns.

To see if there are any opportunities specific to GEMS school students, search for ‘GEMS’ in the keyword search bar.

Select/highlight as many opportunities that interest you and when finished, click ‘next’ towards the bottom of the screen.

You’ll then be able to see all the opportunities you have selected on this next page. Here, you can scroll through and find out more information about what the university is offering, the specific eligibility criteria and how to apply for it.

You can also delete any opportunities you no longer wish to consider on this list by clicking the ‘delete’ button in the top right corner of each opportunity.

Once you’re happy with your Shortlist, click ‘save’ at the bottom of the screen.

Your Shortlist will then be emailed to you.

Here, you also have the option to download your Shortlist with extra info if you need to.

Remember, you can make as many Special Opportunities shortlists as you like and you can view them anytime by clicking on the ‘Favourites’ button on the main dashboard.
