Who We Are:

Buffalo Urban Sketchers is a local chapter of the international Urban Sketchers (USk) organization. We are a community of artists, creatives, and sketching enthusiasts who share a passion for capturing the world around us — one drawing at a time. Our members include everyone from seasoned artists to those just starting to explore sketching. All are welcome!

What we do

We sketch on location — exploring parks, neighborhoods, coffee shops, and landmarks throughout the Buffalo-Niagara region.

We connect through community — gathering regularly to share, support, and inspire one another.

We share our work — through social media, exhibitions, and events that celebrate the unique character of Buffalo-Niagara.

Urban Sketchers around the world follow these guiding principles

Manifesto:

1. We draw on location, indoors or out, capturing what we see from direct observation.�
2. Our drawings tell the story of our surroundings, the places we live, and where we travel.�
3. Our drawings are a record of time and place.�
4. We are truthful to the scenes we witness.�
5. We use any kind of media and cherish our individual styles.�
6. We support each other and draw together.�
7. We share our drawings online.�
8. We show the world, one drawing at a time.

We typically host sketch outings about once a month, with dates and locations announced in advance.

Anatomy of an Urban Sketch Meet

• Meet Up at the Location: We will gather, chat, and take a quick group photo before heading out to sketch.�

• Disperse to Sketch: We will all spread out around �the location to find�a great spot to �sketch.

• Throwdown & Community Chat: We come back together at a specific time (usually 2 hours from the start)�

• Share our sketches on social media (FB group or Instagram)
