WPA stands for Work Progress Administration. The picture to the left is a picture of sign put on a building that was built by the Work Progress administration. The years 1935-1939 on the sign was the years the building was built.

The founders of The WPA were Franklin D. Roosevelt and Harry Hopkins(Brain trust). It was meant to help the US out of the Great Depression reforming the financial system and restoring the economy.

The Work progress Administration was an American new deal agency. The WPA employed millions of americans. The employed americans were hired for the construction of public buildings and roads such is hospitals and schools.

The Work Progress Administration was created by the government, but had a widespread effect on the whole entire US. It helped all of the US out of the Great Depression by employing americans and having them construct public buildings.

The Work Progress Administration was established by executive order 7034 on May 6, 1935. The Work Progress Administration lasted until June 30, 1943

The Work progress Administration was important. The Work progress Administration was important because it employed millions of americans. The Work progress Administration was important, but it didn’t last more that a decade.The Work progress Administration was important so the US made as many public buildings is they could to boost the economy.

The Work progress Administration changed the US by employing approximately 8.5 million people, however it was ended because is the production for World War II began unemployment dropped. Franklin D. roosevelt noticed this and ended the WPA. During its time it help the us construct building that would provide more jobs so unemployment wouldn’t be a problem.
