Dear ATLAS sites,

​

CentOS7

as announced in October [1] ATLAS would like to start a more forceful migration to CentOS7 and have the vast majority of resources, if not all, migrated by June 1.

Moving is relatively painless, but please read the twiki carefully. Your cloud squad should be involved in the process.

We can count 41 sites that have started already migrating and some are already completely migrated. The sites that are in the middle of a migration should accelerate the process and complete it. We assume they will not need hlp in doing this.

The sites that haven't started yet instead should contact us and let us know how they intend to proceed and if they see a problem in migrating by the beginning of June. Please useAlessandra.Forti@NOSPAMcern.ch, xzhao@NOSPAMbnl.gov, atlas-adc-cloud-<your-cloud>@cern.ch

The migration will be followed up with reports at the ADC weekly and at the jamboree.

Scratch disk space

ATLAS would like to incrase the SCRATCHDISK quota to 100TB per 1000 analysis slots (analysis should be able to use 25% of the resources dedicated to ATLAS). It previously was 60TB per 1000 slots

So if you have 8000 slots and ATLAS share is 75% the analysis slots to use would be 8000*0.75*0.25 =1500 your SCRATCHDISK should be 150TB.

IPv6

We take the opportunity to remind sites that there is also an ongoing WLCG campaign to enable IPv6 [4] at sites and that the first deadline (having perfsonar and the storage on dual stack by the end of 2018) has passed.
