Lessons Learned

  1. Can SAVE MakeCode as a PUBLIC link!
  2. Robot Mining:
    1. “Collect All” command can be used to collect any objects broken / destroyed
    2. Can teleport to a specific location (like a “warehouse”)
    3. “Drop All” command can be used to drop all objects (“mined” blocks) in a location
    4. Can use conditional commands to have different agents / robots simultaneously do something (“drop all at sunrise”)
  3. “Structure Block” is like a CLONE block in Scratch!

Questions:

  • Can we load MakeCode from a saved / public share link back into Minecraft Education?
  • Can we use the “structure_block” with the agent to clone entire buildings?
  • What kinds of rock / minerals / materials do NASA and space engineers plan to MINE on Mars to 3D print buildings / structures?

Lessons Learned

  • We can use ADVANCED blocks to code SHAPES like a SPHERE.
  • It can take a LONG TIME for the agent to create / build the shape.
  • Spheres have wasted space for FLAT GRID farming.
  • Don’t make a shape out of LAVA.
  • To STOP the agent:
    • Run another program.
    • Move 80 blocks or more away from the agent.
    • Quit Minecraft.
  • Users need to be OPERATORS to run some commands (like build a sphere)
