Anti-Hazing Policy

All members shall respect the dignity of all people, and therefore, shall not physically, mentally, psychologically, or sexually abuse or haze any human being. Any such mistreatment of associate members, members or other persons at any time shall be considered a violation of the ideals, principles and purpose of this organization and shall be considered unworthy conduct. Individuals who engage in hazing activities risk sanctions and termination by the Sorority. Sorority sanctions and/or termination does not absolve individuals from criminal sanctions.

Sigma Lambda Gamma strictly forbids before, during, and after member intake and education. No entity or volunteer of Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc. shall engage in any activity that does not ensure a safe and inclusive space for our members.

Philanthropies

Breast cancer awareness is a global effort to educate people about breast cancer, its symptoms, and treatment options. The most well-known symbol of breast cancer awareness is the pink ribbon, and October is celebrated as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, or "Pinktober".

SLG’s Education Foundation

The Foundation supports the empowerment of all by providing our members with chapter grants and scholarships. We believe if we educate a woman, we educate a generation. The Sigma Lambda Gamma Education Foundation mobilizes the giving power of our members and donors to change the world.

Membership Criteria

• Graduate from a recognized four-year college or university with a minimum of 2.6 GPA
• Pay the following fees to become a member through the Alumnae Association:
• Induction Fee: $160
• Initiation Fee: $200
• As a member, these are the annual membership dues:
• Amethyst: $145
• Rose: $170
• Panther: $180
• You would then be invited to attend the National Sisterhood Retreat or National Convention

Membership Criteria

• Participate in the Graduate Membership Program (The Journey)
• 8 Weeks, broken up in 3 Phases
• Goals of the Education Program:
• Become an emotionally intelligent person
• Develop and enhance your understanding of self
• Develop a sense of siblinghood and empowerment
• Leadership development
• Understand entity operations
