Guidelines for poster presenter

  1. The poster must be in one (1) page. Additional pages will not be accepted
  2. The poster must include title of research, name(s), affiliations, and logo of affiliations (to be positioned at the left corner of poster)
  3. The poster must include UM Sign-off (to be positioned at the right corner of poster)
  4. Must be in English
  5. The file size may not exceed 25MB
  6. All files must be submitted as a PDF and named as Full Name_Institution Name_Sub Theme_Category (i.e. Rania Atiqah_UM_2_Poster)

Poster presenter should try printing the poster based on the final draft first, to ensure the clarity of the contents especially text and figures

Submissions

  • Abstract: Your abstract shall be emailed to hbpucsecretariat@gmail.com before 25th September 2026.
  • The presentation will be graded on the clarity of communication, research quality, significance of the study, the relationship between the methodology adopted and findings gathered, research contributions as well as overall knowledge and understanding of the study posed by the presenter.
  • In appreciation and recognition of the efforts of those who participate in the competition, a certificate of participation will be issued accordingly.
  • File Naming Format: The submitted video file must be named using the following format:

Full Name_Institution Name_Sub Theme_Category�(e.g., Muhammad Aqil Mahmood_1_Poster)

Recommendation to presenter

1. Content Relevance

The poster must correspond to the title and content of the abstract submitted.

2. Layout and Proportion

Please maintain appropriate dimensions and proportional font sizes throughout the poster to ensure visual balance and readability.

3. Use of Figures and Tables

Figures, tables, and illustrations should occupy slightly more than 50% of the poster area. If only a few visuals are used, they should be presented in a larger size for better visibility. While text should not be omitted, it must be concise and brief. The poster should be understandable even without oral explanation.

4. Clarity and Focus

Keep the poster simple, clear, and focused. Avoid overcrowding the poster with excessive information, as too much content may reduce the effectiveness of communication.

5. Viewing Distance

Posters should be designed for clear viewing from the distance of more than 3 feet, allowing several people to read and view the poster simultaneously.

6.Text Readability

To ensure visual effectiveness, easy to read, use large lettering and keep the amount of text to a minimum.

7. Colour

The use of colour is encouraged to enhance the visual appeal and overall effectiveness of the poster.
