The comanche depended on animals for homes, food, and clothing.
The comanche gathered nuts and berries and hunted buffalo and deer.

The Comanche Made houses called tepees. They had poles made of long buffalo hides. Most Comanche live in L.A and some live in new Mexico. They had tepees because they could be taken down and up quickly. The Comanche lived in Oklahoma, and Texas.
Comanche Life Today

Comanche served in the u.s armed forces. 2,000 Comanche people are farmers, teachers, and doctors. The Comanche now live in county Oklahoma. Today there are about 12,000 comanche people.
Comanche Beliefs By Boone Phelps
Young Comanche men went on trips to the spirit world.
The sun, moon plants, and animals all have spirits.
They believe that the sun is a spirit and earth is mother.
The Comanche believed that the great spirit created everything.
Each person has a relationship with god the great spirit believed in evil spirit who brought disaster. Some comanche practice their traditional religion today.
Comanche Government

Today the comanche Nation has it’s own laws Government and people.
The tribal council is made of all tribe members over the age of 18.
living in the U.S.A. in all there are 11,000 Comanche.
Leaders come together to make decisions for the whole tribe.
Each tribe has a leader for peace and war.
They are most powerful in the southern plain.
The business committee has 7 members. The business committee and the tribal council help the comanche nations.
Family Life
Men used horses to help them hunt. They were expert horse riders. The comanche live in groups called bands.
The Comanche belonged to the shonie but they split in two groups. The children take care of animals. Women prepared food,sewed tepee covers,and took care of children.

The Comanche didn’t often have celebrations. But the Powwow homecoming takes place in Lace Waters Oklahoma. It teaches young Comanche members Comanche history,and culture. They also use a healing method called the beaver ceremony it was performed medicine man. The Comanche call them self the Nu Mu Nu meaning the people. There is a fair in Oklahoma every year.

Made buckskin clothes out of deer hides. Men wore belts cald breech. Cloth and moccasins and leggings women wore moccasins and a dress. Woman made clothing and moccasins from animal hides for there family’s.
