THERE ARE NOW OVER

8 BILLION OF US

ON EARTH

Significant population growth is creating a real need for innovative mobility options as ground infrastructure becomes increasingly strained and congested.

Macro-trends like urbanization, increasing GDP per capita, rapid e-commerce adoption, and evolving customer expectations are only exacerbating this issue.

Between the movement of people and parcels, new technologies are necessary to solve the problems of today and tomorrow.

Honeywell Confidential - ©2024 by Honeywell International Inc. All rights reserved.

LOW COST: electrification, automation and vertical takeoff + fixed wing cruise flight reduce operating cost by 35% - 75%

QUIET OPERATIONS: small rotors with low tip speed leads to 100x quieter operations compared to helicopters

HIGH SAFETY: multiple rotors and automated flight control eliminate single point failure and supports robust vertical takeoff

SUSTAINABLE: all-electric powertrain eliminates pollutants and carbon emissions at point of application

Summary

“EVTOL, or more generally Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), represents the next transportation revolution offering safe, clean and affordable airborne mobility. AAM as a domain includes a broad range of technologies and modalities, including both vertical (VTOL) and conventional takeoff and landing (CTOL), crewed and uncrewed operations, moving cargo and people safely through the skies over local and regional distances. It involves new aircraft configurations, operating on conventional power and a wide range of electric and hybrid electric power. The evolving AAM ecosystem also includes new and modified infrastructure, both for airborne traffic management that will allow them to safely integrate into the National Airspace (NAS), and the ground facilities for production, flight operations, maintenance, repair and upgrade of large battery-powered aircraft. This discussion will provide perspectives on the broad ecosystem in development globally, and the emerging

regulations that together enable this vision, and will be making it a reality in the next years.”
