Definition of Organism

Organism refers to anything that acts or functions like a living thing

OR

Any living structure such as plant , animal , fungus or bacteria capable of growth and reproduction

8 of 69

Definition of surroundings

Surrounding means the nearby environment- all the objects close to you , as well as the location its self or condition where you live

9 of 69

Is there any place on earth where there is no organism ?

10 of 69

Boojho and Paheli searched every place near their surroundings but they found organisms every where

11 of 69

Paheli and Bhoojho both get surprised when they read people have even found tiny living organisms in the opening of volcanoes

12 of 69

Boohjo and Paheli prepared a table showing animal and plants found in different surroundings

Forest

Mountain

Desert

Sea / Water

Lion

Yak

Camel

Conclusion of the activity

  1. We find that the organism which are found in different places are also different from each other (different places – different organisms )
  2. There is a relationship between surroundings and organisms (Animal and Plants) living there

Definition of Adaptation

26 of 69

Acclimatization

  • Small changes that take place in the body of a single organism over short periods , to overcome small problems due to changes in surroundings are called acclimatization
  • Example :- If we live in the plains and suddenly go to high mountain , we may experience difficulty in breathing for some days. We need to breathe faster. After some days , our body adjusts to the changed conditions.
