Start Recording
Press the Record button and wait about three seconds before you begin to speak to allow Audacity to record the sound of the room.

Speak Slow
Speak in a slow, conversational tone as you record while taking note of the soundwaves as you speak. Press stop when you are finished recording.

Delete Sections Not Needed
Highlight the sections at the start and end of the project which you don’t need, then click backspace to delete those sections.

Export Your File
In this file, I recorded myself counting 1-10. To export the file: Select the entire recorded sound file > Click File > Click Export > Click Export as MP3.

Export Settings
Choose a location for your exported file.
Name your file.
Configure the following –
Bit Rate Mode: Constant
Quality: 128 kbps
Channel Mode: Joint Stereo
Click Save to save your .mp3 recorded file.

Exporting Selected Audio
In this file, I want to export the selected audio of me saying “1”. To export the file: Select the section with the recorded saying of “1” > Click File > Click Export > Click Export Selected Audio.

Choose a location for your exported file.

Name your file.

Click Save to save your .mp3 recorded file.

Completed Export of 1-10
After selecting, exporting and naming each number, all files should be in the local folder where they were chosen to be saved.
