Human population is continuing to grow, but the amount of land for farming stays the same.
Food Scarcity Game Rules
Skittles = Food Grown
Each Person = City
Each round, every city needs to collect a specific amount of skittles for the people of the city to all survive.
As the years go on, the population increases, so each city needs to be able to collect more food for the people of the city to survive
For every 4 skittles collected by a specific city, I (the government) will give that city 1 extra skittle to eat.
As soon as 1 city is not able to collect enough food, you fail as a government and stop the simulation
Fill out your table after each round
Year | Global Population | Amount of food needed per city | Food Collected: City 1 | Food Collected: City 2 | Food Collected: City 3 | Food Collected: City 4 |
2020 | 7,795,000,000 | 2 | | | | |
2030 | 8,548,487,370 | 4 | | | | |
2040 | 9,198,847,382 | 6 | | | | |
2050 | 9,735,033,900 | 8 | | | | |
2060 | 10,151,469,683 | 10 | | | | |
Describe what happened in your simulation.
