The captions are live! The automatic caption process took approximately an hour. However, it took about 15 minutes for CCLE to allow the captions to be edited.

NOTE: This may still appear until captions are available for editing. The best way to test captions is to just turn them on in the video!

TIPS

  • Zoom doesn’t automatically upload video; you must upload the MP4 file yourselfvia Media Gallery
  • Video will be in Documents Folder (Zoom sub-folder)
    • There is a conversion from Zoom to MP4 that occurs when you click on the file
  • If you start Zoom with CCLE you will get an attendance list
  • Kaltura captions don’t work on iPhone but do with iPad/PC
  • YouTube captions work everywhere
  • Start Zoom session with remote desktop
  • Video File will be already at UCLA on UCLA PC and will upload faster.

To make files visible to students, use Video Resource in CCLE

  • In CCLE with Editing turned ON, click on Add an Activity or Resource and then select Video Resource from the list

  • Embed the video file from Media Gallery
    • Make sure captioning is complete

  • Students will then be able to view your video on your CCLE site with captioning
