Benny’s food pantry

Inspired by the opening of the UCLA Food Pantry, Benny’s Food Pantry launched in 2017 in a small office in the Colin Powell School. In 2019, the pantry moved to a larger space at the Hoffman Lounge of NAC. The pantry was named Benny to honor the schools tradition “open the doors to all”. Inspired by the Moxie Foundation, CCNY opened the Urban Gardens. The garden is taken care by the community and their goal is to produce 1000 lbs of fresh food. Benny’s is open to anyone in the CUNY community and In addition to food assistance, Benny provides people with critical support services like: Emergency Housing, SNAP, Job Preparation, etc.
