The Types Of Pyramids
There are many different types of pyramids, the Egyptian, Nubian, Mayan, Aztec, and the Modern pyramid. They all have their unique look. The main one of the egyptian culture is the Egyptian and the Modern pyramid.
Step Pyramid
The Step Pyramid is in Sakkara, Giza. It is the most intact pyramid in Sakkara. The pyramid is 173 meters long and has a flat tip. The Step pyramid is in Djoser, Saqqara. Built by pharaoh Djoser. It was built in the year 2630.It's height is 204 feet high. The Step pyramid was inclosed by a 30 foot wall and included courtyards, temples, and chapels covering nearly 40 acres.
Fun fact: The Step pyramid was the first pyramid ever built.

Some interesting facts about the egypt pyramids are that there are about 80 in egypt, and 110 in the world pyramids. The pyramid of Khufu is the largest pyramid in the world, it is in Egypt.Khufu's pyramid was finished around 2550 BC. Almost all of the pyramids were found around and near the city of Cairo.

There are many pyramids throughout the world. One pyramid is the pyramid of Giza. Imagine putting together a 480-foot-tall pyramid. Did you know each block weighs about as much as 25 refrigerators? They built the pyramids about 4,500 years ago. Wow they were strong! Back then they didn't have trucks or cranes to help them. Instead they used ramps and strength to help them put the blocks in place.
The Egyptians built the pyramids west of the Nile River.They believed the dead entered the afterlife through the west.The pyramids were built in the desert. The soil along the Nile was good for growing food so they didn't build their pyramids there.Inside the pyramid scribes (a person in ancient Egypt who wrote for other people.) often carved prayers into the walls.These words would help the king after death.
The Red Pyramid
The Red pyramid is in Dahshur,Egypt. It is 341 feet tall. It is also called the North pyramid. It was named the Red pyramid for a reason. It is a rusty-reddish color. The Red pyramid was one of the largest of three major pyramids. The Red pyramid wasn't always red it was cased with a white Tura limestone, but the casing may have been taken for buildings. A long time ago it was the largest man-made structure in the world! It was also believed to be the world's first successful attempt at constructing a "true" smooth-sided pyramid. Some people refer to it as the el-haram el-watwat meaning the bat pyramid.

All pyramids had small tunnels that led to different rooms. Some tunnels led to rooms that were traps incase of tomb robbers.Some tomb robbers would often get lost in the tunnels and die. Pyramids have many tunnels and rooms. Each pyramid has a hidden room called the burial chamber.

The pyramids were built for pharaoh. Pharaohs had pyramids built for them because they were royalty. When they were put in the pyramids they had one room with them and special belongings, such as, bowls, gold, and other very important things needed in life.
If you were to go to a pyramid today you would find, stairs, handrails, and electric lights. But back when they just built and started using them they would use torches for lights and they would have to climb up the inclines.
