History

Atacama Resources International, Inc. was founded nine years ago as a US public company and focused on mining claims for properties in Kirkland Lake, Ontario’s ‘Golden Mile’, that showed indications of having viable concentrations of gold ore. When looking for gold, concentrations of cobalt and graphite often were found as well, and Atacama decided they would also become targets of interest.

Since Atacama Resources was founded in 2015, the EV (Electric Vehicle) market has matured and over the last two years, virtually all automobile manufacturers globally have decided that their future is dependent on transitioning from internal combustion engine-powered automobiles to electric automobiles, SUV’s, and trucks. This means that the demand for lithium, cobalt, and graphite used to manufacture EV batteries will increase exponentially in the years ahead.

Because of the ever-increasing demand for lithium, especially, new lithium mining sources must be found in the Western Hemisphere to offset current sources of lithium in countries that may exploit their strong position and do not always work in the best interests of the United States. Atacama is committed to becoming a player in lithium exploration activities in Canada and the US.

Atacama Resources International is an OTC Pink Current United States public company. The company is reviewing additional properties in northern Canada as well as properties in the United States. Due to the enormous growth of the EV market, minerals of interest include gold, graphite, cobalt, lithium, silver, and nickel.

There are several gold properties near the existing Atacama gold property in Kirkland Lake that are under review for the purpose of acquiring additional mining claims. In addition, the company has previously explored cobalt and graphite locations within 30 miles of the existing Atacama gold property. The cobalt and graphite claims are still available, and steps are being taken to acquire the mineral rights to these properties.

The emergence of the EV market has presented a new opportunity for Atacama Resources and th

Elon’s missing ingredient: the human and political challenges of Tesla’s supply of Cobalt

Encourage development of North American Cobalt – Tesla has repeatedly stated that it would prioritize North American supply chain of Cobalt and other materials in its production. This is a signal to the mining sector to encourage mining/ exploration operations. This has led many entrepreneurs to explore options to develop Cobalt (and lithium) mines in Canada and Nevada.5 (ACRL Property)4.CABO COBALT/DIAMOND PROPERTY, COBALT AREA

Tannahill Gold Property

Overview: Tannahill Gold Property – A Brief History

  1. Acquisition and Early Exploration
    • 2020 Acquisition: Atacama Resources International Inc. acquired a 100% interest in the Tannahill Gold Property, located approximately 35 km northeast of the prolific Kirkland Lake gold camp. The deal included a 2% Net Smelter Return (NSR) royalty with a buyback option e-mj.com.Property Scope: The property comprises 29 contiguous mining claims covering around 625.5 hectares in Tannahill and Elliott Townships, part of the highly gold-endowed Abitibi Greenstone Belt Newsfilemininglifeonline.net.
  2. 2. Historical Drilling Programs
    • Late 1990s (1996–1998): Two parallel gold-bearing structural zones—Upper and Lower Zones—were identified. Out of 28 diamond drill holes, 27 intersected significant gold mineralization. Notably, the Lower Zone produced visible gold in 4 holes and revealed grades ranging approximately from 0.35 to 3.25 g/t over widths of 0.6 to 3.0 m, with deeper intervals returning up to 7.02 g/t over 3.7 m mininglifeonline.net.
    • 2011 Drilling: Additional drill data reaffirmed the historical findings with results including 5.16 g/t over 5 m, 4.8 g/t over 5 m, and 7.02 g/t over 3.7 m in the Lower Zone. Other results ranged from 1.2–4.0 g/t across various shallow depths mininglifeonline.net.

3. Technical Assessment

    • NI 43-101 Technical Report (August 2023): Atacama completed a 102-page independent technical report assessing over 80 years of exploration work, reinforcing Tannahill as a property of merit and recommending further evaluation at depth and along strike Atacama Resources.

4. Recent Exploration Efforts

    • Early 2024: A drilling program began on the Tannahill North section (approx. 25 miles northeast of Kirkland Lake), supported by magnetic and Induced Polarization (IP) surveys on the South area Newsfile.Mid-2024 Assays: Preliminary assay results surfaced, highlighting hole AT24-03 which yielded 4.19 g/t Au over 1 m, 3.39 g/t over 2 m, and 1.41 g/t over 3 m. Hole AT24-02 returned 2.26 g/t over 2 m Newsfile.

5. 2024 Exploration Campaign

    • January 2025 Update: Atacama reported results from its 2024 exploration program:Six of 17 drill holes intersected gold between 0.59 g/t and 5.31 g/t over widths of 6.5 to 20 ft.
    • One hole averaged 0.71 g/t over 60 ft.
    • These findings confirmed and extended the historical data (1996–1997), which had shown up to 7.02 g/t over 3.7 m Newsfilemininglifeonline.net.Geophysical surveys (magnetic, VLF-EM, IP) identified two conductive zones—IP Zones A (~500 m strike) and B (~900 m)—both remaining open to the northeast and containing unassayed massive sulphides, offering strong base metal potential such as copper and zinc Newsfilemininglifeonline.net.

6. Community and Environmental Engagement

    • September 2023: Atacama signed a landmark agreement with the Naotkamegwanning First Nation, appointing their company Asinike Diamond Drilling as the exclusive drilling contractor—a significant step toward responsible and inclusive resource development

Why is there such a strong belief of Gold here?

The Round Lake Batholith

The Round Lake Batholith is a large intrusive igneous body located in northwestern Ontario, Canada. Here’s a summary of what’s known about it:

  • Geological Setting:The batholith is part of the Superior Province, one of the world’s oldest and largest Archean cratons. Specifically, it intrudes rocks of the Uchi Subprovince, which is well-known for its greenstone belts and associated gold mineralization.
  • Composition:The Round Lake Batholith is mainly granitic in composition, consisting of tonalite, granodiorite, and granite phases. Like many batholiths in the Superior Province, it represents large-scale crustal melting during Archean tectonic events.
  • Age:Geochronology places it in the late Archean, roughly 2.7 billion years old, which corresponds to the Kenoran Orogeny—a major mountain-building and crust-forming event in the Superior Province.
  • Size:It’s a large, oval-shaped pluton (hence the name “Round Lake”), covering several hundred square kilometers.
  • Economic Importance:While the batholith itself is generally barren of significant mineralization, its emplacement has structural and thermal influences on the surrounding greenstone belts. These nearby belts host important gold deposits (e.g., Red Lake, Pickle Lake, and other Uchi subprovince camps).
  • Exploration Significance:In mineral exploration, the Round Lake Batholith is often used as a geological marker. Its margins and contact zones with greenstone belts are prospective areas for gold mineralization, as intrusions can act as heat engines that drive hydrothermal systems.
