Complex Texts

Variety of Texts

Instruction on grade-level standards must center around grade-appropriate,

complex texts.

“Texts” are materials that can be read, written, spoken, listened to, or viewed. Instruction must include range of genres, structures, media, and formats.

Integrated Literacy Model

Writing, speaking, and representing support comprehension of texts being read, listened to, or viewed. Reading, listening, and viewing texts support emulation of author’s writing in student expression.
