The Story Method

We have learnt how to memorise the mnemonic using associations.

We have also learnt the musical terms that will help us in our exam using associations.

We will now learn how to store information in your long term memory, using another method, the story method.

Hey guys, OMG: I’ve just got to tell you about this new teacher we got today in class. She was like, so Dynamic; one minute she was really loud - she almost burst my ear drums and the next so soft: I could hardly even understand the lesson!

But then, after a few minutes, I really got into her rhythm and starting combining all my notes.

The pitch of the lesson was perfect for me and I was on a real high when I left, but my friend was like, so low.

The next day was even better. I totally got the overall plan because of the structure of the totally crazy lesson. My friend was so, no, rity anything on paper, but the teacher totally knew she needed a range of stuff to do so she totally articulated and timed her vocals like super well.

Anyway, the teacher suddenly started whistling this totally awesome melody so we all copied the tune. Then my friend started playing all these instruments and her instrumentation was super cool.

After class it was totally freezing, so I put on my textured jumper which had loads of layers. I had to quicken my tempo so I walked with serious speed. I was tonality freezing when I got home and put the key in the door, like super fast.

..

When I opened the door my friend Harmony was waiting for me! We combined our notes from class and joked about the lessons – turns out she totally loves the new dynamic teacher now – that’s like SO typical of Harmony – OMG!
