Zenodo usage within NeIC
“NeIC documents should be easily findable, readable, and referable.”
As written in NeIC’s Openness Policy https://wiki.neic.no/wiki/Openness_policy
Default location for approved final reports/deliverables is the NeIC external wiki.
Documents justifying a permanent identifier can be published on Zenodo as part of the NeIC community [on Zenodo].
Howto upload a report or similar* written this year: https://wiki.neic.no/wiki/Zenodo_howto
*also valid for data/presentations/posters..

Why Zenodo?
Created knowledge of interest beyond the NeIC scope
justifying a permanent identifier like Digital Object Identifier (DOI).
Zenodo can provide such DOIs.
NeIC outcomes are expected to be made openly available
On Zenodo: better accessibility & findability
Visible to a broader use base and potential future collaborators
Zenodo allows for keywords for improved targeting.
Acknowledge author contributions and increase visibility

How to upload to Zenodo
Step5: Keep improving your upload
Upload the actual file (now self referenced)
Step6: Publish
Note: Once published you will have to upload a new version of the publication item if you change it (That’s the point of DOIs).
Step7: Wait
Community curators will have to approve your request
Step8: Test and Improve
Add more keywords or additional authors, update author information, fix typos in the abstract. (all without the need for new versions)
Step9: advertise your newest upload

Zenodo API usage
“Authors” field... plenty of clicking/typing/scope for error
How to do this more automatically/programmatically?

Also here: possibility to test uploads without publishing in the sandbox first https://sandbox.zenodo.org/
NeIC staff webpages have the possibility to add persistent identifier (like ORCID) information and make it accessible over the website API
