NJSLA – Summative Assessments

Designed to measure student proficiency in:

  • The knowledge specified by the New Jersey Student Learning Standards
  • ELA & Math - students are assessed on the content taught at that particular grade level/course being assessed
  • Science - students are assessed on the science taught to them over the years prior to the testing date (i.e. the 5th grade assessment assesses grades 3-5, the 8th grade assessment assesses grades 6-8, and the 11th grade assessment assesses grades 9th-11th)

ELA - 2 Units plus 1 Pilot Unit in 2022 (grades 3-9)

*Each grade level completes the testing over a period of days - no more than 2 units per day
