Settings & Tips for Sample 1 Padlet

Some Tips:

  • First create a “Template” for any Padlet.
  • Then Create a Remake. Change the Name of the Padlet XXXX – Section 1. Make sure to Copy Design and Copy Posts, and Copy people and privacy when you Remake. Make sure the Privacy of any Remake is Secret.
  • Note, I used LaTeX to type in formulas into my first posts. I used this website for help with LaTeX Equation Editor for online mathematics

Using Padlet During a Review Class

  • Write the final answer to each question on the front board.
  • Share the QR Code or URL with students. I also copied the URL link into D2L where the students could access it. Note, they can then also access the completed Padlet anytime later.
  • Put students into groups and tell them which colour to start with. When they are done with their colour, they are meant to then continue with the next colour until they have completed all the questions.
  • Remind students to upload a full solution, not the just the final answer.
  • Tell students they will have to use the slider bar to get to the top of a section if the question is not showing on the screen, or to scroll through other students’ solutions.
  • Circulate around the room to help students with uploading solutions. Most students are fairly good at this.
  • Check students’ posted solutions and let them know if their answer is incorrect or needs more detail.
