Let the end of year countdown begin!
As our time in classrooms, offices, workshops and at CDLI desktops grows shorter, our TESIC executives would like to extend a huge thanks to all who were able to attend the 2025 TESIC/MSSIC/TLNL joint conference! Your support means the world to us and we look forward to seeing you (and hopefully your fellow attendees who were unable to make it this time) at our future events.
This edition includes another call to action as requested by Dr. David Gill - Undergraduate Programs Associate Dean and Associate Professor of Technology Education regarding the Intermediate course restructuring. See slide #4 for information and a link to a Google Form Petition. Your opinion matters!
Additionally, it is never too late to nominate your fellow educators using innovative teaching practices for our TESIC Connect’s showcase. If you know someone who would be a great fit for this honor, please reach out to us. End of year projects, innovation challenges, and ideas for the final week of our school year (post midterm/exam craziness!) are especially welcome as fuel for the final push.

�Petition from Dr. David Gill Regarding Junior High Changes
Dr. David Gill (Associate Professor and Technology Education Diploma Program Coordinator) has started a petition calling on the Department of Education to reconsider its proposed changes to the Intermediate Technology Education curriculum. While Dr. Gill agrees that changes and renewal are needed, the direction the Department has proposed are contradictory to the research and evidence that point to the importance of a solid, strongly defined technology curriculum as a part of K-12 general education.

Science and Technology Summer Working Groups
Ontario Tech Courses
If you are interested in joining working groups with the Department of Education this summer, please complete this form. Working groups/dates/times are not yet confirmed.
The work will be to prepare
Science 2200 for piloting and verification to begin in September 2025, and
Science and Technology 7-9 through the review of sample teaching and learning strategies and development of sample performance activities.
This work may include work within eNLightenED, the new digital platform for curriculum in the province.
