Summation

  1. April fools day had said to be a thing for the french that were slow to change calendar to the Gregorian Calendar these folks were called “fools”
  2. The museum of Hoaxes has a complete collection of all the theories, but the real problem with explaining April Fools’ Day is that you never quite know when someone is trying to fool you with their explanation. The classic example of this comes from Joseph Boskin: Constantine and Kugel.
  3. In 1957 the jokesters at BBC, ran a segment on the coming of spring after a mild winter and what that meant for Swiss farmers. The answer? An unusually large spaghetti crop. According to the Museum of Hoaxes, “Huge numbers of viewers were taken in. Many called the BBC wanting to know how they could grow their own spaghetti tree. To this the BBC diplomatically replied, ‘place a sprig of spaghetti in a tin of tomato sauce and hope for the best.’”

Video game pranks

1.The newest (fake) innovation from Nvidia is G-Assist, which is essentially an AI player that can take your place in online games or help to give you an edge in difficult boss fights. It's even supposed to warn you when it's time to pause and get something to eat or drink, which is like a weird twist on those notifications in Nintendo games telling you to take a break.

2.Update: This game could actually be real, and just be a bit of unfortunate timing. According to a post on Neogaf, as translated note from Arika wrote that "the fact that we hid that this was going to be the game played is the joke." The game above is actually playable and represents an in-development product. It's a weird joke, but great news that the EX cast may actually be coming back!

We feel fear because we see or hear something that makes us anticipate harm.

Say you’re walking through a haunted house this Halloween and a spooky skeleton jumps out at you. That skeleton acts as a stimulus that triggers a signal in your brain.

The signal travels to the amygdala — a region near the base of the brain. The amygdala fires a brain chemical called glutamate out into two other regions of the brain. The first region makes us freeze or involuntarily jump. These reactions are so automatic because the signal is sent deep into the base of the brain to an area that we have little control over.

Part 2

The second signal is sent to the hypothalamus and triggers our autonomic nervous system (the system responsible for the fight or flight instinct) when our bodies go into superman mode. It elevates our heart rate and blood pressure and pumps adrenaline throughout our bodies. That’s the rush you feel when scared. Also when your blood pressure goes too high you can
