9th grade, Gold and Silver - equal ability; Blue excellerated

Symphonic Band Blue & Gold (2 credits)

10-12th grades, equal ability

Wind Symphony (2 credits)

10-12th grades, upper-level auditioned ensemble.

Wind Ensemble (3 credits)

10-12th grades, upper-level auditioned ensemble. Considered the AP course equivalent for band.

Marching Band (1 credit) is a class that meets term 1 - block 2

Open to band students in grades 10 to 12

Performs at home football games and local parades

Co-Curricular Ensembles

Students who are enrolled in a curricular ensemble are eligible to participate

  • Jazz Bands (Silver, Gold, & Blue)
    • Three bands grouped by ability
    • Rehearses once a week after school
    • Performs at concerts and jazz festival
  • Spirit Band
    • Pep band style music
    • Plays at basketball & hockey games, and their state tournaments
  • Percussion Ensemble
    • Open to percussionists only
    • Rehearses once a week in the evening during the winter months
    • Performs at one concert
  • Pit Orchestra
    • A small group of advanced players
    • Performs musicals together with the theatre department
    • Personnel selected by the directors based on previous performance evaluations

  • Course 650 - Band Grades 9-12 (2 cr)
  • Course 652 - Marching Band (1 cr) (10-12th grade only)

9th grade band placement determined by the director. Students interested in applying for Concert Band Blue submit a recorded evaluation: � Concert Band Gold, Silver & Blue

10-12th grade band placement determined by playing evaluations term 3: � Symphonic Bands Gold & Blue, Wind Symphony, & Wind Ensemble
