This course is designed for students who have completed Algebra 1 and Geometry.

The ideal student is one who wants a rigorous alternative to Algebra 2 as this course has the same A-G college designation as Algebra 2.

Additionally, any student who has completed Algebra 2 or beyond and would like a non-AP mathematics class that is more appropriate to their future studies would also be a great student for this course.

Lastly, this course can be taken in the same year as other math courses.

For most college majors, you are likely to be required to take a statistics class. An introduction to statistics course is often a prerequisite to higher level classes.

Statistics is not only necessary for being an informed citizen, but is useful for almost every major and career. ... Improving statistical literacy is one of America's top educational priorities.

Computer programming is important today because so much of our world is automated. Humans need to be able to control the interaction between people and machines. Since computers and machines are able to do things so efficiently and accurately, we use computer programming to harness that computing power.
