THE SECRET �OF SUCCESS

Every human being wants to be successful.

• Young people want to succeed in their studies.
• A mother, in the education of her children.
• A man or a woman, in his or her professional life.
• A politician, in his ambition for power.
• An athlete in his attempt to win.
• A sick person, in his attempt to recover health.
• A Christian also wants to succeed in identifying with Christ and inheriting eternal life.

TWELVE SECRETS TO SUCCESS

What words does He address to you?

1. Give your heart to Jesus and accept His salvation and justification. �(Romans 5:1).

“My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.”

Proverbs 23:26

What were Jesus' words regarding this?

2. Put God in first place.

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

Matthew 6:33

What is this connection compared to?

3. We should accept our human weakness and unite our heart with Christ's, trusting in His grace every day.

“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. ”

John 15:4-5

What should be our purpose?

4. Carefully search God's word daily. (Acts 17:11).

Deuteronomy 17:19

“And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them.”

How many times a day did Daniel pray?

5. Always pray.

“Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, �as he did aforetime.”

Daniel 6:10

What can we not do without faith?

6. Have faith.

Hebrews 11:6

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

What was Jesus’ custom?

7. Attend church meetings

“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, �as the manner �of some is…” �Hebrews 10:25.

“And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the �sabbath day, and �stood up for �to read.”

What example should constantly inspire us?

8. Forgive and love.

“Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, �which is the bond of �perfectness.”

9. Follow Jesus’ example in the obedience to His commandments.

What does the Lord want us to be?

10. Be a light to others.

“For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth..”

What promise can we cling to?

11. Be steadfast.

“Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised.”

“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”

What promise does the Lord give to those who surrender themselves wholly before Jesus?

12. Trust and allow God to work in us.

Philippians 2:12-13

“Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

For it is God which worketh �in you both to will and to �do of his good pleasure.”

IS SUCCESS UP �TO FATE?

What opportunity does God give every human being?

“But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it. See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil; In that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, �that thou mayest live and multiply: �and the Lord thy God shall bless thee �in the land whither thou goest to possess it.”

Deuteronomy 30:14-16

“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.”

What advice does Jesus give us?

“Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.

While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. T�hese things spake Jesus, and departed, �and did hide himself from them.”

Will we allow this sacrifice to be in vain?

SEVEN �WONDERFUL PROMISES OF GOD

To him that overcometh...

1. Will I give to eat of the tree of life (Revelation 2:7).”
2. “He shall not be hurt of the second death (Rev. 2:11).”
3. “I will give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone and in the stone, a new name written (Revelation 2:17).”
4. “To him will I give power over the nations (Rev. 2:26).”
5. “He shall be clothed in white garments and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life (Revelation 3:5).”
6. “I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God and he shall go no more out (Revelation 3:12).”
7. “I will grant him to sit with me in my throne (Rev. 3:21).”

Evaluate your progress in Christian life

1. I believe the entire Bible to be the word inspired by God.
2. I believe we live in the last days and that Jesus Christ will soon come in a personal, visible manner.
3. Apart from Christ, there is no way- to be saved. '
4. I am justified only by faith, and works are only the fruit of faith and a proof of our love.
5. I believe sanctification is the work of Christ in me, through the Holy Spirit
6. I pray to the Lord every day. I also ask blessing for my food.

7. I believe in the eternal validity of the Ten Commandments.
8. I believe that 'Sabbath (Saturday) is God’s rest day and �I want to keep it holy.
9. The dead know nothing, and they sleep in the grave �until the day of resurrection.
10. I believe we should look for help only from Jesus, not' from false seers, healers, astrologers or spiritualists.
11. I believe in eternal life, that God will create a new �earth after the 1,000 years.
12. I believe the investigating judgment began in 1844 and that Jesus entered into the Most Holy Place in the heavenly sanctuary.

13. I believe the true church is identified by keeping the commandments of God and having the faith of Jesus.
14. I wish to be baptized in order to belong to the body of Christ, which is His church.
15. I believe ‘God revealed Himself through the prophetic gift to Ellen G. White.
16. I desire to follow a natural diet according to the instructions that God gave to man at the beginning.

20. I wish to be among the overcomers and to live each day with Jesus, thus having a successful life.
