CVC Pattern
In reading, you will be meeting short words composed of three (3) letters. The most common of these word classifications follow the consonant-vowel-consonant or CVC pattern.
In this lesson, you are expected to spell high frequency words with short a, e, i, o and u sounds in CVC pattern.
Let us review our alphabet. It is divided into two groups: the vowels and the consonants.

CONSONANT-VOWEL-CONSONANT (CVC) PATTERN
CVC is the acronym for consonant-vowel-consonant pattern. In here, words following this pattern are composed of three (3) letters. The first letter is a consonant, the second or medial letter is a vowel, and the last word is again a consonant.
n + u + n = nun
