  • Make sure you are using the latest version --- in this case is iDesktopX 11.1.1 2023

Open the Folder of iDesktopX

  • Find the folder named with bin and open

Clear the Web Cache

  • Find the folder named with Cache and delete that folder.

Try to open the Google Map

  • You can open by right-clicking on the Datasource and selecting “Open Web Datasource” or clicking the globe icon on the “Web drop-menu” in the Datasource Group of Start tab.

  • Follow the screenshot and try to open Google Maps again in the iDesktopX to check if you can see the map showing in the iDesktopX.

  • If you still can not see the Google satellite map, which means you need to change the Google map satellite map version in an xml document.

  • Open the page of Google Maps in your Explorer (Chrome or Edge).
  • Change the layer to the satellite

  • Click F12 in your keyboard to call the console out.
  • Then select “Network”

  • Zoom in or out of the satellite map to load the tiles of Google Satellite Maps.

  • Then double-click on the image tile loaded when you did the zoom process. The type is jpeg in this case.

  • Then we will open a new tab only with the tile we selected. We can find the satellite data version by the name of the tile or the address.

  • In this case, the version is 962. Then we can modify the file named SuperMap.xml in the bin folder with this information.

  • Find the SuperMap.xml file in your bin folder of the iDesktopX root directory.

  • Open with the editor and search “satellite”. The number between <GoogleSatelliteV> is the version of the Google Satellite data we are going to load

  • Go to change the version number to the real satellite version number you found with the explorer. In this case is 962. It will change with the time.

  • Just in case, clear the cache again please.

Try to open the Google Map again

  • Follow the screenshot and try to open Google Maps again in the iDesktopX to check if you can see all the Google Maps showing in the iDesktopX.
