1 Peter 3:15-16 �Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it. But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:1-2

Now brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise you have believed in vain.

 Mark 1:14-17 & 8:27-31-Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God.  “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!” As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen.  “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” …Jesus and his disciples went on to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked them, “Who do people say I am?” They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, one of the prophets.” “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am? Peter answered, “You are the Messiah.” Jesus warned them not to tell anyone about him. He then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and after three days’ rise again.

The Gospel Declares:

• The Kingdom of God is at hand
• Jesus is the Messiah
• Jesus died for our sins
• Jesus was resurrected on the 3^rd day

The Gospel demands a response:

• Repent of your sins
• Believe the Gospel
• Follow Jesus

The Gospel of Jesus

• The Kingdom of God is at hand (when you die, what?)
• Jesus is the Messiah (Acts 4:12)
• Jesus died for our sins (1 Peter 1:18)
• Jesus rose from the dead (1 Peter 1:3)
• RESPOND: Repent (radical change of heart/mind)
• Believe (John 3:16)
• Follow Jesus (Matthew 4:19)

PRAY

God, please forgive me for sinning against you. I understand that, according to Your Law, I deserve to be separated from you forever. Yet, You are not willing that any should die this way. Thank you that Jesus suffered and died for me and rose again on the third day. I now repent from my sinful life and surrender myself to Jesus to be my Lord and Savior. By your grace, I will read the Bible daily and choose to obey what I read, help me to follow You. In Jesus Name, Amen!
