Home Visit Requirements

  • Educator must fully participate in Home Visits and must be available during all booked hours, regardless of if there are children in care
  • Will happen around once per month, but will be more frequent to start, when there are new children and as needed
  • Spontaneous and planned
  • In person or online
  • In your home or on excursion
  • Educators must also be available for phone calls from the Coordination Unit – ½ hour call-back!

Advertising

  • It is your business – you must advertise!
  • FFDC advertises online and sometimes in other formats, including sponsorship
  • Educators can advertise in any appropriate place, provided the required information is displayed
  • Must include the information that you are registered with Foundations Family Day Care and have one/both service phone (0421599416) and email (admin@ffdc.com.au)

Interviewing families

  • Before – decisions and preparation
  • During – Show, answer, ask
  • After – follow up with family and Coordination Unit promptly
  • Only hold a spot for a maximum of 3 days without them filling in the paperwork, 7 days if paperwork not signed
  • For expected enrolments, send an EMAIL to the Coordination Unit so we can know which Educator that child belongs to.

Enrolling children

  • Families go to ffdc.com.au, click the enrol button, then complete the registration form online including submission of the Immunisation History Statement
  • Complying Written Agreement & IHS sent to Educator
  • Educator completes and signs with family
  • Educator emails copy to Coordination Unit
  • Other forms needed:
    • Needs and Interests
    • Routine Excursion
    • Photo permission if using Facebook, online programming, etc
    • Medical Management Plan (MMP)

DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN TO COMMENCE CARE UNTIL YOU HAVE A CONFIRMATION EMAIL FROM THE COORDINATION UNIT

  • Do more than just Reconciliation Week or NAIDOC Week
  • Join the Koori Club or similar
  • Participate in as much training on this topic as you can
  • Consider how you can incorporate Indigenous culture
