I was the grandson of Alfred the Great and son of Edward the Elder. I was a strong and clever leader who won important battles and made many kings agree that I was the true ruler. I also helped bring the country together by making laws and supporting learning and the church. Because of me, the English kingdoms finally united together as one … forming England!
