Big Idea

Tasks to accomplish TFI 1.9 include:

  • Developing a written set of procedures for the School-wide Tangible Reinforcement System
  • Creating a sub-committee to manage/oversee the Tangible reinforcement system
  • Developing trainings to support staff in delivering Acknowledgements and Affective Statements at a rate of 4+ to 1-
  • Developing a School-Wide Acknowledgement Policy

We create a culture where we reinforce skills that lead to social and behavioral success.

I find that greeting students by name with a smile as they come into class helps all of us have a better day.

A voluntary training for new teachers/staff has been added to the calendar. The topic will be: The Power of Adult Attention.

Staff Please Note: the Eagle’s Nest will be open for twenty extra minutes on Friday so students can cash in their Eagle Wings prior to winter break.

Now when students earn an Eagle Wing, I make sure to also pair it with specific feedback so that they know what they did well; it’s been really effective.

The School-Wide Acknowledgement Policy has been updated to include information on the new platform we’re using to award and track Eagle Points.

The Tier 1 Climate & Culture Team randomly surveyed a group of 20 students from all grades and found that 70% of them had received at least one Eagle Wing in the last month!
