Indigo Protocol: Synthetic Assets on Cardano

A robust Cardano DeFi ecosystem would require a scalable Plutus smart contract synthetics protocol to efficiently & securely mirror real-world assets on-chain.Owning an iAsset does not represent any underlying ownership of the real world or digital asset itself, merely the synthetic asset.

6 of 74

Meet Indigo Protocol

Indigo Labs Team

We saw an opportunity to be the first team to begin a development sprint in creating such a protocol and began development in May of 2021.

  • Team of 7 Haskell developers (Top 20% of Plutus contributors on GitHub)
  • 1 Web Developer (Plutus experience)
  • 1 Marketing Lead
  • 2 Tech Consultants with a decade of entrepreneurial experience

7 of 74

The protocol will combine proven DeFi functionalities like minting, staking and burning iAssets. These iAssets enable significant advantages over traditional assets:-Fractional Shares

-No Limited Location-Simple to access with little to no typical obstaclesEnabling price exposure to assets via Indigo’s noncustodial & decentralized architecture unlocks opportunities for wealth creation at the global scale for anyone with an internet connection, instead of only for a select few.

What Indigo Brings to The Table

Indigo Protocol: Synthetic Assets on Cardano

Tweag Audit of Indigo Protocol

As with any legitimate protocol developing in good faith, we needed a trusted and capable external firm to audit our plutus smart contracts to expose any vulnerabilities in our code. This was a mission-critical step for our team in building a safe, secure, and robust dApp that we had full confidence in.

  • 30 engineering hours - Code Review
  • 15 engineering hours - Delivery of Initial Audit Report
  • 15 engineering hours - Verification Review
  • 5 engineering hours - Final Audit Report

Fixed cost for this work which is composed of developer's salary, accounting/taxes and VAT: $65,000

How Project Catalyst Helped Us

Thanks to the catalyst voting process, the community supported our mission and has made us fortunate enough to receive funding on our project.

Our proposal was funded for 60k US dollars, though our actual audit costs exceeded 60k.

A synthetics protocol to efficiently & securely mirror real-world assets on-chain.

F5 QA-DAO got funded – July 2021

For the princely sum of $5 we discovered that there is a demand and need for Quality Assurance in Catalyst .

QA-DAO believes that quality assurance is a cornerstone of good governance; we aim to develop distributed, inclusive and open-source approaches which engage communities in building cultures of transparency.
