Example of what not to do
Zen Magnet Buckyballs “warning”
Warning: DO NOT SWALLOW MAGNETS. How old do you have to be to play with these? Dunno. 15 years old in the U.S. for a strong magnetic toy, unless it’s not a toy, then no age limit, but they’re fun magnets spheres [sic], aren’t they a toy? Unless it’s a “science kit” then the government age recommendation is 8+. But really, it’s whatever age at which a person stops swallowing non-foods.

In case you are wondering: I'm inclined to like the vertical.
Making Guidelines
Note: Engineering paper is not spaced for guidelines. You will need to add an upper guideline even if you are using engineering paper.
Making Guidelines
Use your dividers!
Making Guidelines
The Rapidesign lettering guide is used to guide letter height. It is not used to make guidelines.
This is my favorite way to letter. I still have and use mine.

Using a Lettering Template
These have a stencil for each letter. They are the best way to make super-consistent letters manually. You must lay the template against a horizontal rule such as a T-square.
Zephyr Lettering Set
Actually a type of pantograph. Used to create high-quality letters before the computer days. Could be used to ink drawings.
Dry Transfer Letters
Were used for for high quality lettering.
Commonly used drafting symbols were also available.

These are set in the DDIM dialog box
Bundled into DIMSTYLES similar to the styles used with text.
