In the centre you can see a path through the columns. This clear view is your strength.

But move and things become messy. More columns, more distractions, more things to do…

5 secrets to capitalize on your strengths

CONNECT TO THE CAUSE - It’s not about the money – you need to build relationships – focusing on money means donors are uncomfortable – no shared value – it’s not about overwhelming donors to donate – limit the auctions and educate attendees so they are connected and motivated.

Internal buy in – managing an event is stressful – no one needs a Galazilla – Karen – because their behavour impacts how donors see your business - humanize your workforce. Your staff work for you because they’re invested in the cause. Let that shine! Internal marketing is external success.

Don’t ignore your donors – you need to know everything about them. There’s an RSL in Sydney that trains its staff on birthdays. You must acknowledge and reward those who make a contribution, especially significant ones! Treat it like a FF status. No airline would dare ignore a top tier flyer.

Say thank you – designate time to recognize and acknowledge your donors, team, volunteers, it’s like a Christmas Card – shared value!!

Follow up after the event – send an update – where does the money go, what did it achieve, what’s next, newsletter, highlight success stories, share pictures – foster a sense of community.
