Before students can gain access, the teacher must first create a course (level of language) and section(s) (class periods/blocks).
Instruct students to go to vhlcentral.com. Once there, they should click "Create an account.“ If they do not have a course code, they will be prompted to purchase one.

Student’s school email address or a fake one

Click “Create Account"

At the next window, students create their account with several pieces of information (see hints below). If students do not have a school email address, you can create a fake one for them to use. The password should be the same password students use to gain access to the school’s devices or the school’s site. Keep usernames and passwords systematic so that you can assist students when they need to recall their information.
Use the same password students use to access district devices
Students should enter their names as they appear in the school’s roster
Use name of school, first pet, and city where born. They are the easiest to remember.

Once the student clicks "Create Account," they will see a welcome screen and should click "Enroll in a Course."
The student will then click "K-12 School" and provide their school’s information. Typically, the keywords of the school name and the city or state will narrow the search enough for the students to select the correct school. It is critical that the students pay attention to which school they are selecting. School names are common across the country, so the students should be careful to select the one in the correct city and state when the options are listed.

Once students select the correct school in the correct city and state, they will see a list of all the Vista programs the school uses for which teachers have already created courses and sections. The students should then select the appropriate book cover for their program.

Once they have selected a book cover, students will see all of the courses and sections that have been created for their school. Students should then select the correct teacher and then the correct course and section.
If students select the wrong course and section, they can follow the instructions in the Enrolling Students in a Course guide.
IMPORTANT – Once students create an account in vhlcentral, they never need to do so again. They will simply use the same username and password every year.
Click “Enroll"
Select the appropriate teacher, course, and section

If students have not already purchased a course code, if they purchased the wrong code, or if they did not purchase all of the required components for a course, they will be prompted to purchase a code. Clicking "Go to store" will take them to the VHL Store page, where they can purchase the specific program or component that they need.
This link will take students directly to the program they need, or to the component they need to join the course.
