These tabs will direct you to useful information. Colleges, Careers, and About Me will link students to various assessments, information, and exploration activities.
Careers Tab

These career assessments provide students with insight into their career interests and strengths
* These assessment should be completed in Career Seminar
Personality Type�“Do What You Are”

Students are given situations/scenarios & asked to select which more closely aligns with what they would do/who they are.
Results of the “Do What You Are” assessment provide students with the following:
When students click on a career of interest, a wealth of information is available including a description, knowledge & skills required to do the job successfully, tasks & activities that will be expected, as well as average income broken down by state. Students will also have the opportunity to explore related occupations & related college majors.
If a student is interested in a selected career, they can save it to a career interest list by clicking on the “+add to my list” link
Parents can also add careers of interest for their students.

Career Interest Profiler
Students are asked to indicate their preference about completing various tasks.
Profiler Results
Results of this assessment provide students with career categories that fit best for them, as well as careers that might interest them. In this assessment careers of interest are broken down by amount of preparation/education needed.

Searching For Careers
If a student has a career in mind, [s]he can search for that career using the navigation bar on the “Careers” home screen. If not looking for a specific career but just for more in-depth information they can do so by going to the explore area.
Favored Careers
As students explore, they are building a list of careers that are grabbing their interest. This list is then used later as they begin to narrow down career choices.
*This list is found under the “Careers” tab, click on “favorite careers & clusters”

Quick Reference for upcoming College Rep & Career Speaker Visits
Using “SuperMatch”, students can set preferences for higher education & select schools that best fit their individual needs
Students can keep an updated list of colleges they are considering. Once a student has sent an application, they can track application statuses under “colleges I’m applying to”
These items are good representations of the success of past SHS students in applying to certain schools
Students can customize search parameters to find the “perfect school based on size, distance, major, makeup, etc….
Colleges can be searched for directly by name.
College Searching & SuperMatchTM
Students can save multiple searches & find them under “My Searches”
Students can search for schools of interest
Using the orange tabs, students will be able to set preferences for colleges & then search through their matches
This can all be done on the “College Search” tab as well with a few different criteria for searching.
Any school found via searching in Naviance that meets a desired criteria can be saved to a list of colleges the student is considering.

A snapshot of the public school profile
Students can see their chances of acceptance compared to SHS students and the rest of the country.
The tabs marked by the stars will guide you through pertinent information for each school including majors, admission criteria, financial aid information, and student life information.

The Studies section of each school’s page displays pertinent information on the school’s academics.
A snapshot of Retention & Graduation Rates, Degrees Offered, and Acceptable Methods For The Transfer of Credits.
Detailed information is provided on the most popular majors offered at the school in addition to information on all majors offered at the school.

The Student Life section of each school’s page displays pertinent information on the school’s makeup. Additional information on Organizations, Athletic Options, Greek Life, Campus Services and Computing Resources are also available.

Demographic data is provided for each school to give an idea of the makeup of the student population

Students and families can see general acceptance information including deadlines and policies.
Students and families can see recommendations and requirements for components of their application.
Students and families can see recommendations and requirements for high school courses that should be taken.
Students and families can see the importance of different application components according to the university.

Families can aesthetically see how their student compares from a numerical standpoint
Scattergrams can show families where their student stands in comparison to former SHS students aesthetically.
Past acceptance and enrollment history from SHS students is available to be seen.

Students and families can get a more in depth picture of the cost of a school with the inclusion of average grant and loan amounts.

Click on “lookup” to search for schools of interest
After selecting the ones you want, click “Add Colleges”
Students, Parents, or Counselors can begin adding colleges to this list by clicking on “+add college to this list”
Level of interest in these schools can be indicated as well.

Application Deadlines are available for easy tracking of dates
If you click on the link for a school a wealth of information is available (see next slide)
Scholarships
Found under the “Colleges” tab, students can search for local and national scholarships. Materials needed to complete the scholarship will be available through links on this site.
