COVID Inspired Street Art

Found & Shared by Burlington Central Students

2 of 51

In last week’s Media assignment, students were asked their opinion about the street art in this article.

As a bonus, students were challenged to find other examples of COVID street art. They embraced the challenge and did an amazing job. I’m so proud of your work!

The Thank You image is my favorite because I love the message it's sending. Also, the color palette and art style make the piece stand out. If I were walking down the street, it would definitely make me stop. I also really like the more classic graffiti font style.

I think it's interesting how the artist combined multiple different meanings. I often enjoy when art goes deeper then just what you can see. For example, this piece, Political Message, was obviously showing a person putting on a mask (for protection from COVID-19), but the other message was about politics.

Coexistence shows that even if we are all different we can still coexist if we can cooperate with each other and follow guidelines. Even though we may have different skin colours we can still live together safely if we work together. We may have different beliefs but even so, we should learn to cooperate so we can all live safely.

I really liked the pop of colour that made Safety First stand out. Colour is the type of thing that people notice so it sends a bigger message. I also really liked the patterns on the mask and the texture and detail in the girl’s face and hair. I like how the girl is in black and white while everything else is in colour, it makes the girl stand out.

I really liked this assignment because it's nice to see all of the inspirational art that the people around the world are showing us and the messages that they are trying to bring out.

It makes me feel good to see that some people other than doctors and nurses actually care and want to help us get through this.

This was a great way to look at some intriguing art that simultaneously related to something serious currently taking place. I found it amusing to look at various works of art that are all street art, however they’ve done it in each artist's personal style.

I really enjoyed seeing different street art pieces about COVID-19 because I never knew that they existed. I like seeing the effect that street art has on our community and society during this hard time in the world.
