  • Scholastic and Lack-of Progress Probation Policies

  • Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy

  • College Policies apply to high school students enrolled in dual enrollment courses. A substandard grade or Withdrawal “W” will appear on the student’s permanent transcript and can impact academic and financial aid standing at Imperial Valley College

What happens if I don’t pass?

If you do not pass Dual Enrollment courses (with a “C” or better) and pay attention to deadlines, you could be entering college on academic probation!

Scholastic Probation and Lack-of-Progress Probation:

You can be dismissed from the college for a semester (not allowed to take classes).

Three Strikes! If you receive a W, D or F for the same course twice, you have to petition to retake the course a third time!

Student Aid Probation (SAP)

You may be denied financial aid assistance. It’s reviewed once a year, which means you

would need to remediate and fix it using your own money.

Think Long-term-See a Counselor!

  • IVC-Most Dual Enrollment courses will apply to a degree

  • CSU-Most Dual Enrollment courses will transfer

  • UC-May transfer, but not apply

  • AP-Be careful not to duplicate! (APUSH v. Hist 121)
