Based on percentage of writing, many of your narrative arcs looked like this:

Make sure your narrative arc focuses on the positive/strength/perseverance...started from the bottom now we here!

Tragedy vs. Truth

• Not every story has to be a sad tragic story.
• You don’t want a sympathy admission, you want to demonstrate your strength

Focus on your strength

not your sadness.

Melodrama vs. Concrete Truth

• Was the event truly significant enough to warrant such diction?
• How to express the most tragic:
• Melodramatic overstatement vs. Concrete details
• Real story of my grandma

Job Interview for College:

What do you offer to the university?

Reverse outline your essay: what are you offering? Is this what a university would want?

They are forming a community for their school

Final Reminder:

Don’t regurgitate accomplishments and honors. Elaborate, expand, chose different ones?, color in the picture of your accomplishments, what are things about yourself that can’t be left out?
