The listening exam is made up of two parts:

In Part 1:

  • Part 1 is the narrative text.
  • You will listen to a story and answer 7 multiple choice questions (total 7 marks).

In Part 2:

  • Part 2 is the information text.
  • You will listen to an information text and answer 8 multiple choice questions (total 8 marks).

Format

  • Your teacher will play the audio recording for you. Each question will be on a new page on Swift Assess. Use the arrow keys to move to each new question. You will listen to each part of the audio 3 times. At the beginning of each part there will be a pause for one minute. In this time, scroll through all questions and read each question very carefully. Use a piece of paper and pencil to write down key words that will help you answer the question.

  • Think about the topic of the audio and what it is about.
