Istation
In an effort to keep up with your child's daily learning, it is recommended that students work on both math and ELA ISIP lessons for at least 30 minutes two or three times a week.
In addition to this, they may complete 1 ELA
assignment and 1 math assignment from the
"assignment backpack" on your child's Istation
home screen. These lessons are individualized
to meet your child’s needs and can be completed
at your convenience.

Please have your child read one book daily. There are questions related to the book at the end of the story.
Writing: Personal Narrative
Prompt: Write a story about your favorite first grade memory. Did you enjoy the fun run? Describe. What about recess? Or your favorite science experiment. Or maybe you made some new friends.
A personal narrative is writing about a personal experience from the child’s point of view.
Prompt Example: Write about a time you were happy.
I was happy when I went to the beach with my best friend. First, I walked along the beach and found some sea shells. Next, I went swimming in the ocean. We splashed in the waves. Then, I built a huge sand castle with tall towers. Last, I chased crabs in the dark. We found many crabs with our flashlight. My day at the beach made me so happy.

Math
Math is organized by daily lessons. The week’s packet should correlate with the printable packet. You can complete lessons daily or do more than one a day. The pacing is there as an option to help you stay organized.
Look carefully at the pictures of the first grade team* when they were first graders. Write 1-10 on a piece of paper. Write the teacher’s name that matches the number. Send the list to your teacher via dojo or remind. If your answers are correct, you will be entered into a drawing for a prize!
