• M.S. in Professional School Counseling K-12 – Minnesota State University, Mankato
• B.A. in Psychology, concentration in Educational Studies from St. Olaf College
• Fun Fact: I can play the violin and hula hoop at the same time!
• My WHY for school counseling: I care deeply about helping kids feel supported and valued. I love watching students work towards their goals and achieve new things!

ABOUT ME

The JES school counseling program is for all students and is centered on encouraging growth in academic, social/emotional, and college/career domains to help all students be the best they can be.

SCHOOL COUNSELING SERVICES

• Goal-focused support for students experiencing academic, social, emotional, or behavioral concerns
• Skill building in the areas of anxiety, transitions, anger management, social skills, etc.

SHORT TERM INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

• 6-8 week small groups
• Topics determined by the needs of the students (i.e. stress management, making friends, conflict resolution, grief, executive functioning, etc.)

• Monthly character development lessons to all students using the Second Step Program
• Lesson topics include bullying prevention, empathy, problem solving, emotion management, etc.

• Connect families with community resources when requested or as appropriate
• Share mental health resources

Academic Support/504 Plan Case Manager

Coordinate the Johnnie Member Program

Coordinate with administration/Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Committee to plan PBIS activities for students

Collaborate with teachers, administration, and families to help monitor academic and social/emotional development

Career exploration at the elementary level – introduce students to different careers & possibilities and explore interests and strengths
