DUST MOP THE FLOOR

  1. This should be done after the restroom has been cleaned.
  2. When using dust mop, work in a clockwise or counter-clockwise pattern in order not to skip or clean the same area twice. In using a dust mop, never lift the mop head from the floor once you have started dusting. This causes a vacuum that pulls dirt and dust away from the mop head causing recontamination to the area.
  3. When the mop head becomes too dirty, place in appropriate plastic bag for laundering, then attach a clean one and continue dusting.
  4. If dust mop does not pick up all the debris on the floor, use a dustpan and brush to remove the pile of debris.

  2. Place mop in disinfectant cleaning solution and wring out till mop is damp. The mop water should contain a disinfectant which is designed to kill germs on contact.
  3. When using damp mop, work in a figure eight pattern in order not to skip or clean the same area twice. Use both sides of the mop.
  4. Rinse and wring the wet mop head often.
  5. Push the mop head under the bed and all furniture to clean as much of the floor area as possible.
  6. When finished with wet mop, wring as dry as possible, and place in appropriate plastic bag for laundering.
  7. Be sure to remove “Wet Floor” sign once floor is dry.
