Design considerations
Keep a personalized experience: Unlike its competitors (e.g., Glow, Clue, Natural Cycles), Flo is an intimate app. In order to keep that intimacy, I opted for an experience which would still feel personalized to the user.

Tasks & Scenarios
14
Scenario 1: You’d like to share information about your cycle with a loved one. How would you go about sharing information about your cycle with a loved one?
Outcome: 4/4 UNSUCCESSFUL
Scenario 2: A few days have passed, and now you want to check on your sharing request and review the information you’re sharing. How would you go about doing that?
Outcome: 4/4 SUCCESSFUL
Scenario 3: You’ve received an email request to connect with someone on Flo. You’ve confirmed the connection and would like to see the information they’re sharing.
Outcome: 4/4 SUCCESSFUL
Scenario 4: You’re a non-Flo user. You’ve received an email request to connect with someone on Flo. How would you go about doing this?
Outcome: 4/4 SUCCESSFUL

Usability Testing Results
15
1. Low Findability: 4/4 Participants had difficulties locating the sharing feature.
2. Email Invites: Participants would like see more information in the email template. (e.g., detailed information about what the requester wants to share.
3. Contact grouping: Participants would like to categorize their connections and have better control over what they’re sharing with each group.
4. Privacy: Participants want more privacy when they’re sharing their information.
“I would love to see what they want to share from Flo. I'd love to know what they want to share with me.” - Research Participant #1, Usability Testing
“
I just wish it was easier to find, like there was an icon that said something like share with friends or share with some of your loved one on the front.” - Research Participant #2, Usability Testing
“When someone finds their way to settings, the rest is easier. I can see everything else is here, but the way to find it is a bit hard.” - Research Participant #4, Usability testing
I would love to specify who is who. I think it will help me in choosing what kind of information I want to share with different people.” - Research Participant #3, Usability Testing
